Types Purposes of visit
DIPLOMATIC VISA or OFFICIAL VISA – To enter Thailand on diplomatic or official functions
TRANSIT VISA Maximum stay 30 days and employment is prohibited – To transit to the country of destination (Category “TS”)- To participate in sport activities (Category “S”)- The person in charge or crew coming to a port, station or area in the Kingdom (Category “C”)
TOURIST VISA Maximum stay 60 days and employment is prohibited – To travel for tourism (pleasure) purposes only (Category “TR”)
NON-IMMIGRANT VISA Maximum stay 90 days,extension of stay can be applied in Thailand. – To conduct business and conference / to work (Category “B”)

 

Note: For teaching in Thailand, a background check from your local law enforcement agency(s) is required along with the original letter on school letterhead from the accredited school. Please contact the Embassy to confirm whether or not Non-Immigrant “B” visas can be issued for teaching at the school which intends to employ you.

– To study, to come on a work study tour or observation tour , to participate in projects or seminars, to attend a conference or training course, to study as a foreign Buddhist monk (Category “ED”)

– To conduct scientific research or training (Category “RS”)

– To perform missionary work or other religious activities with the concurrence of the Thai ministries or Government Departments concerned (Category “R”)

– To work as a film-producer, journalist or reporter (Category “M”)

– To perform official duties (Category “F”)

– Other activities such as visiting family, settlement after retirement or pensioner, Voluntary work etc. (Category “O”)
