On 18 August 2024, H.E. Mrs. Sirilak Niyom, Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark, hosted a dinner at Thai Ambassador’s Residence for Thai students in Denmark and Thai nationals working with the UN agencies based in Copenhagen. The event aimed to provide them opportunity to get together, discuss and exchange views on studying and living experiences in Denmark, as well as building networks among them. The Ambassador emphasized on being good representatives of Thailand whether as students or UN personnel. The knowledge and experience they gained in Denmark can be beneficial to the development of Thailand.
Most of Thai students in Denmark are master's, doctoral or postdoctoral students in the field of science, engineering, medicine, biology and business who receive scholarship from the Thai government, Thai agencies or Danish universities. There are 9 Thai national working in the UN agencies in Copenhagen, including the World Health Organization (WHO), United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) and United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
