The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand has carried out a project to disseminate art and culture on the Salt Route by inviting mass medias and independent academics to visit the areas of Sakon Nakhon Province, Bueng Kan Province and Nakhon Phanom Province to study the geographic conditions that were the origin of rock salt civilization which is significant to the culture, society, economy, politics, as well as the way of life of communities in the Mekong River Basin. This video "Salt Route " has been made to disseminate to general public both at in Thailand and around the world.
