On 14 January 2025, Mr. Puwit Wisartsakul, Chargé d'Affaires a.i., together with Mrs. Apijaya Wisartsakul, his spouse, led officials and spouse as well as staff members of the Royal Thai Embassy in Copenhagen, to pay respect to the burial site of Phraya Cholayuthyothin (Andreas du Plessis de Richelieu) at Holmen Church to commemorate the 125th anniversary of his tenure as the first, and only Danish, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Siamese Navy (16 Jan. 1900 - 29 Jan. 1901) during the reign of King Chulalongkorn (Rama V).

Phraya Cholayuthyothin is regarded as an important figure who oversaw the setting up of the Marine Corps and the Royal Siamese Navy in those days. He was once appointed as the deputy commander during the Incident of R.S. 112 crisis (Franco-Siamese War of 1893), to command forces against the invasion of the French navy at Phra Chulachomklao Fortress at the mouth of the Chao Phraya. He also contributed to the development and modernization of Siam, which laid the foundation for the close and long-standing friendship between Thailand and Denmark.
