The Thai festival this year was organized in a temple fair theme. In the event, there were activities that showcased beautiful cultural traditions of Thailand for Danish people to enjoy in a variety of ways ranging from the morning ritual of praying and making merit, long drum procession to lead monk to sprinkle holy water at the Thai house to Thai traditional dance performances, Thai music, Thai boxing, Thai folk songs, jazz performance by the Pathorn Srikaranonda Quartet, and quizzes about Thailand to win prizes on stage. In addition, there were variety of booths presenting Thai fruits carving, Thai dessert cooking, Thai massage, Thai arts and crafts, Thai products, Thai tourism and kid corner where children enjoyed drawing and painting of paper umbrellas and bookmarks as well as Thai food stalls and beverage kiosks such as Thai tea, Thai coffee (O Liang) and Singha beer. A mobile consular service was also provided for Thai people in parallel with the festival.
The organization of Thai festival this year has been a great success, with over 2,500 - 3,000 visitors throughout the day. This was the fourth Thai festival since 2009, 2011 and 2013 at Thai House of Moesgaard Museum, which is a traditional Thai wooden house from Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, located at Moesgaard Museum in Aarhus since 1975. It is the only foreign piece of architecture within the grounds of the Moesgaard Museum and represents the long-standing friendship between Thailand and Denmark that dates back more than 400 years.
