Thailand’s Huay Pu Keng Village and Ko Mak Island have won the Green Destinations Story Awards at ITB Berlin 2023. Huay Pu Keng, a community-based tourism in the northern Mae Hong Son province, was awarded the 1st place in the category of Thriving Communities while Ko Mak, the first Thailand’s low carbon destination located in the eastern Trat province, won the 2nd place in the category of Governance, Reset & Recovery. These two award-wining stories underscore Thailand’s direction towards more sustainable and more responsible tourism.
