On completion of Your Majesty’s gracious, beneficent reign as Denmark’s, indeed Europe’s, longest reigning monarch, permit me to express, on behalf of the people of Thailand, our warmest felicitations and best wishes for Your Majesty’s health and happiness. While Your Majesty’s abdication will inevitably leave a void in the hearts and minds of your devoted and grateful people, your tireless work over five decades will also leave Denmark standing proud among nations as a pillar of strength, peace and prosperity. This priceless wealth of legacies will now be cared for by your most worthy successor, His Majesty King Frederik X.
