Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark gave a talk about Thailand to Copenhagen International Rotary Club

On 25 March 2024, H.E. Mrs. Sirilak Niyom, Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark, was invited by Copenhagen International Rotary Club to give the talk about Thailand at Radisson Collection Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. There were 30 club members from various professional fields such as Chamber of Commerce, businessmen, and NGOs, attended the meeting.
 
On such occasion, Her Excellency the Ambassador lectured on following topics: overview of more than 400 years cordial relations between Thailand and Denmark at all levels especially at the royal family level, trade and investment relations between Thailand and Denmark since the foundation of the East Asiatic Company office in Bangkok in 1884, key political developments in Thailand following the general elections in May 2018, proactive economic policy of the Thai government in accelerating the negotiation of Free Trade Agreements (FTA) with various countries, especially with the EU and Thailand's application for a membership of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) to increase Thailand’s competitiveness and development standards.
 
The Ambassador further informed the attendees of the government's Thailand Vision 2030 "IGNITE THAILAND" which aims to drive Thailand’s economy towards a sustainable future and a hub of various sectors ranging from tourism, medical and health care, aviation, logistics infrastructure including 'Land Bridge' connecting the Gulf of Thailand and Andaman Sea, to food and agricultural industry, energy plan and green transition, future mobility, and digital economy hub, which will increase plenty of opportunities for cooperation between Thailand and Denmark towards a strategic green partnership.
 
The Ambassador reiterated that Thailand is well-positioned for Danish investors who wish to relocate their production base due to the geopolitical competition in the region. Thailand is a good opportunity for investors who are seeking destination where they can reduce their carbon footprint since Thailand has seriously implemented Bio-Circular-Green policies and invested heavily in renewable energy. Moreover, digital development including a 5G network covering the entire country can also support investments which require advanced or more sophisticated technology.
