On 25 April 2024, the Royal Thai Embassy in Copenhagen in collaboration with the Danish Nature Agency organized the “Reforestation Volunteering Activity’’ to commemorate the auspicious occasion of His Majesty the King’s 6th Cycle Birthday Anniversary, 28 July 2024 and on the occasion of Danish Climate Action Day. Mr. Puwit Wisartsakul, Deputy Head of Mission, led the Embassy’s officials, staff, and the Thai community of more than 50 people to plant 350 Oak, Birch, and Aspen saplings in the Greve Skov forest area in Karlslunde, 35 km south-west of Copenhagen. The participants were welcomed by Mr. Jens Nielsen, Forrester, and staffs from the Danish Nature Agency whom also demonstrated how to do the reforestation and cutting branches step by step.
This activity aimed to carry on His Majesty’s determination to conserve the environment and natural resources, increase green areas, reduce global warming, as well as increase biodiversity. In addition, by volunteering the activity is to show the unity and a social responsibility in the country where the Thai community lives. On this occasion, representatives of the Danish Nature Agency expressed gratitude to the Embassy and the Thai community for organizing this activity for the second time since 2022.
