On 21 - 22 November 2024, the Royal Thai Embassy in Copenhagen welcomed the Public Health Committee of the House of Representatives of Thailand, led by Dr. Thosaporn Serirak, Chairman of the Committee, on the study visit on medical technology and public health services in Denmark. They were led to visit the Faculty of Health and Medical Science, University of Copenhagen, welcomed by Ms. Bente Merete Stallknecht, the Dean of the Faculty, and Associate Professor Morten Scheibye-Knudsen from the Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine who welcomed and gave them a briefing on the use of AI and Big Data technology in medical research on anti-aging medicine and health care. The delegation discussed and exchanged experiences in order to apply knowledge on anti-aging medicine to cope with Thailand’s aging society.
The delegation also met and discussed with Ms. Nanna W. Gotfredsen, Chairperson of the Social Affairs Committee, Danish Parliament, and Mr. Mikkel Bjerregaard, officer of the Danish Parliament, who described the overall role of Social Affairs Committee of the Danish Parliament, State welfares for citizens of all ages especially socially disadvantaged and vulnerable groups, including the elderly society in Denmark to be able to connect with the current and future digital society. The delegation also exchanged views on approaches of management of Denmark’s welfare state and development of public health welfare system in Thailand. The Chairperson of the Danish Social Affair Committee also hosted lunch for the Thai delegation. Afterward, the Danish Parliament’s officer led the delegation to visit the Danish parliamentary chamber.
