On 25 August 2021, Mr. Hans Emil Olesen, President of Danish Muaythai Federation, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Mrs. Sirilak Niyom, Ambassador-designate of Thailand to Denmark, at the Royal Thai Embassy. Mr. Olesen took this opportunity to introduce the Danish Muaythai Federation. He also mentioned about the increased popularity of Muaythai in Denmark, where more and more young people as well as the 40-year-old plus group has started to practice and embrace Muaythai as a fitness and recreational activity. Both sides also discussed about the full recognition given by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to the International Federation of Muaythai Association (IFMA) in July 2021 and exchanged views on how to work together to further promote Muaythai in Denmark and support Muaythai to be included in the Olympic Games 2024 in Paris.
