On 22 February 22 2024, H.E. Mrs. Sirilak Niyom, Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark hosted a luncheon with Professor Dr. Henrik Balslev, a Danish botanist from Aarhus University, to discuss the organization of the 19th Flora of Thailand Conference in Aarhus in July this year.
Professor Dr. Balslev, recipient of the Friend of Thai Science 2022 honorary award, is an expert in botany who has worked closely with botanical and educational institutions in Thailand for more than 30 years.
The Flora of Thailand Conference is a forum for botanists to present reports and progress in preparation of the book on Thai flora, as well as future research directions. It was held every two years, the recent meeting in 2022 was held in Singapore. The 19th Conference this year will be held at Aarhus University in Denmark.
