Ambassador of Thailand visited Thai booth at the Ferie for Alle 2023 at MCH Messecenter in Herning

On 26 February 2023, H.E. Mrs. Sirilak Niyom, Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark visited Thai booth at the Ferie for Alle 2023 at MCH Messecenter in Herning, the largest tourism fair in Scandinavia. The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Stockholm Office, organized a booth to promote tourism to Thailand with participation from Thai Airways, tour agencies namely Asia Evolution and Check Point Travel, as well as Gassan Legacy Golf Club and AVANI Hotels & Resorts, joining the exhibition in the Thai booth as well. Through out the three days event, there were many visitors dropping by the Thai booth and asked for the information on package tour in Thailand.

 

Inside the Thai booth, there were Thai dance performances and demonstration of Thai arts and culture, including umbrellas drawing and painting, Thai paper craft or “Phuang Mahoat”, and palm leaves carp weaving. Moreover, Her Excellency the Ambassador also watched the Thai performance "Pong Phai" on the big stage at the event, which also attracted the attention of many audiences. In this occasion, the Ambassador also hosted a dinner for the performers, representatives of Thai Airways and tour agencies at the Thai residence.
 
During 2022, 64,249 Danish tourists visited Thailand. Before the outbreak of COVID-19, approximately 160,000 Danish tourists visited Thailand each year, more than half of which were repeat visitors. This year, it is expected that more Danish tourists will return to Thailand, with similar numbers to the period prior to COVID-19 outbreak. In 2022, about 11.8 million tourists travelled to Thailand, above the objective of 10 million tourists. For 2023, the TAT estimates rapid recovery of Thailand’s tourist industry with 30 million foreign tourists.
