The Royal Thai Embassy in Copenhagen participated in the 2026 Diplomatic Bazaar on 9 May 2026 at Gentofte Town Hall, joining members of the Ambassadors’ Spouses Group (ASG) and diplomatic missions in Copenhagen in a charitable fundraising event.

The Royal Thai Embassy showcased a vibrant taste of Thailand through the sale of authentic Thai food, beverages, and products, while also promoting Thai tourism and cultural heritage. Popular Thai dishes offered at the event included fried chicken with sticky rice, chicken meatballs, green curry, and fresh pineapple served with chilli-salt dip. Visitors also enjoyed a selection of traditional Thai beverages, including Thai tea, roselle drink, butterfly pea with lime, and oliang (Thai-style sweet black coffee), all of which were warmly received throughout the day.

As part of the cultural programme, the Embassy also presented the lively “Som Tum Dance,” inspired by the famous Thai luk thung (country folk). The song was composed in 1970 by Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn—inspired by Thailand’s beloved papaya salad dish from the northeastern, or Isan, region, and remains a cherished part of Thai popular culture.

The 2026 Diplomatic Bazaar aimed to raise funds for charitable causes while celebrating the rich cultural diversity represented by the diplomatic community in Denmark. This year, proceeds from the event will support Kalaallit Meerartaat / Grønlandske Børn (Greenlandic Children), an organisation dedicated to supporting vulnerable children and young people in Greenland.

The Royal Thai Embassy was pleased to take part in this meaningful initiative and welcomed visitors to experience the warmth, flavours, and cultural richness of Thailand while contributing to a worthy cause.
