On 31 October 2023, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) declared that ‘Chiang Rai’ and ‘Suphan Buri’ are recognized as UNESCO Creative Cities Network in design and music respectively. Chiang Rai city is recognized for both sustainable architectural design and landscapes. Suphan Buri is a musically vibrant city: there are numerous domestic artists who passed down and evolved music from the foundations, with potential for global development.
