On 20 January 2025, Mr. Puwit Wisartsakul, Chargé d'Affaires a.i., attended the University of Copenhagen’s Annual Ambassadors’ Meeting and had the opportunity to talk with Prof. Dr. Henrik C. Wegener, Rector of the University. The Charge d'Affaires said to the Rector that there are continuously Thai students coming to study at the University of Copenhagen, mostly at the doctorate level in fields such as life science and biotechnology. They have gained valuable knowledge and experience as well as have done research that contributed to the university and academic circles. The Charge d'Affaires expressed gratitude and hope that the university will continue to support and take good care of the Thai students.
 
The University of Copenhagen is the most famous and oldest university in Denmark. Founded in 1479, or 545 years ago, during the Medieval period, it has produced 37 alumni who have become Prime Ministers of Denmark, including Mrs. Mette Frederiksen, the current Prime Minister of Denmark and 10 alumni who have won the Nobel Prize in Physics, Chemistry, and Medicine, including Niels Bohr, one of the world's greatest quantum physicist who is Danish. The University of Copenhagen was recently ranked the best university in Northern Europe and the fifth best in Europe and has developed one of Europe's largest quantum computers.
