On 24 October 2025 at 10.00 a.m., H.E. Mrs. Suphanvasa Chotikajan Tang, Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark, on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, and Thanpuying Dr. Pharani Mahanonda, Former Deputy Private Secretary to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother, on behalf of the World Tipiṭaka Foundation, together with Venerable Khomsan Janāsabhō and Venerable Dhajasurō Bhikkhu, Honorary Advisor to the World Tipiṭaka Foundation and to The M.L. Maniratana (Snidvongs) Bunnag Dhamma Society Fund under the patronage of H.H. the 19th Prince Supreme Patriarch of Thailand, as well as patrons of the Tipiṭaka publication project, presented the World Tipiṭaka Saj-jhā-ya Phonetic 2016 Editions, which features the “King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s Edition” (40 volumes) with a Pāḷi phonetic reference and “the Queen Sirikit’s Edition” (40 volumes) with Pāḷi Monotone Music Notation, to His Majesty King Frederik X of Denmark to mark the auspicious occasion of the 6th Cycle Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty the King of Thailand on 28 July 2024. Mr. Mikael Bøgh Rasmussen, His Majesty The King’s Reference Librarian, formally received the Presentation at the Gala Hall in the Christian VIII Palace, Amalienborg, with the participation of Thai diplomats and spouses as well as Embassy staff.

Her Excellency the Ambassador gave opening remarks stating that the Presentation of the World Tipiṭaka was a royal initiative to commemorate the auspicious occasion of His Majesty King Vajiralongkorn’s 72nd or Sixth Cycle Birthday Anniversary in 2024. Today’s presentation was also a symbol of wisdom, peace, and understanding between Thailand and Denmark, which have had a long relationship since the first contact more than 400 years, with shared values of respect for national institutions and the monarchy. The presentation of the World Tipitaka to Denmark thus served to continue the tradition of spreading Buddhist wisdom internationally and to strengthen cooperation, friendship, peace, and understanding between the peoples of both countries. Furthermore, Venerable Dhajasurō Bhikkhu is the grandson of General Chaophraya Wongsanuprapat or Mom Rajawongse Satarn Snidvongs, who undertook military training and served in the Royal Danish Army during 1883 to 1892 until being honored by the Royal Danish Life Guards Band by composing the song "Marsch Siamese" at the changing of the guard ceremony at Amalienborg Palace on 5th December of every year. The song "Marsch Siamese" was composed in 1890 by Mr. Hans Niel Hass, the conductor of the Royal Danish Life Guards Band at that time to honor General Chaophraya Wongsanuprapat. The visit to Denmark and participation of Venerable Dhajasurō Bhikkhu in the ceremony therefore had special meaning for Thai-Danish relations.

Thanpuying Dr. Pharani Mahanonda, representative of the World Tipitaka Foundation, stated that the World Tipitaka is a spiritual gift of wisdom and peace from Thailand, presented to commemorate the long-standing relationship between Thai-Danish royal families and also in honour of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother.

Mr. Rasmussen, on behalf of His Majesty The King’s Reference Library, expressed sincere appreciation for receiving a valuable religious and cultural heritage and a lasting symbol of friendship between the Kingdom of Thailand and the Kingdom of Denmark. He affirmed that World Tipiṭaka would be well preserved with dignity at the Royal Danish Collection and would be accessible to the public to enhance cultural and spiritual understanding.

On the same occasion, the World Tipiṭaka Foundation also presented the Sajjhāya Tipiṭaka AI smartglasses to Professor Joachim Mathiesen, Head of the Niels Bohr Institute, a world-renowned physics research institute in Denmark, to support academic study and research in Buddhist wisdom phonetics and quantum technology.
In addition, the Foundation also presented another set of the AI smartglasses to be offered to His Majesty King Frederik X of Denmark.

In the afternoon of the same day, Professor Mathiesen, Head of the Neils Bohr Institute, invited the delegation to visit the Neils Bohr Institute in Copenhagen where Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother once visited and had a conversation with Professor Niels Bohr, the famous Danish Nobel-Prize-winner physicist , during her royal visit to Denmark in 1960. The presentation of the AI smartglasses to the Niels Bohr Institute which is renowned for researches in quantum mechanics and quantum physics, is therefore an interdisciplinary bridge as well as a commemoration to the long and close relationship between the Thai royal family and the Danish royal family, whose visits and the long-standing ties will help strengthen and sustain the friendship and cooperation between Thailand and Denmark.
