On 13 August 2024, H.E. Mrs. Sirilak Niyom, Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark, together with ASEAN Ambassadors in Denmark namely Ambassador of the Philippines, Indonesia and Vietnam, participated in a visit to ECCO’s headquarter in Bredebro. Mr. Thomas Gøgsig, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, Mr. Tom Behrens-Sørensen, Member of Board of Directors and Mr. Peter Schøtt Knudsen, Senior Vice President and General Counsel, welcomed the delegation and presented the shoes production line using modern technology and innovation. On such occasion, ASEAN Ambassadors exchanged views with the executives of ECCO about the potential of expanding investment in ASEAN and the company’s investment guidelines which prioritize the use of renewable energy in the production process to promote the green transition.
ECCO has been in business since 1963 and has established a shoe factory in Thailand since 1993 and a tannery at Saharattanakorn Industrial Estate in Ayutthaya Province since 1999. There are approximately 3,250 employees both in factories and retail stores in Thailand. The company also plans to develop facilities in Thailand into hubs for manufacturing, skill development as well as the use of advanced technology for production in the region.
