On 4 June 2024, H.E. Mrs. Sirilak Niyom, Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark and delegation paid a visit to the Argo waste-to-energy plant in Roskilde, where Mr. Niels Kallehauge, Senior Consultant, welcomed and gave a briefing about the Argo waste-to-energy plant, which was built in 2013 and burns 350,000 tonnes of waste annually from nine surrounding municipalities to produce electricity and district heating for the entire Roskilde region. The plant can provide electricity for 44,000 households and district heating for approximately 61,000 households.

The plant building has its distinctive architecture inspired by the Roskilde Cathedral, including a 98 meter-high Energy Tower with pipes used for filtering and storing carbons from waste incineration. Mr. Kallehauge then led the Ambassador and delegation to see the operations of both waste recycling and waste incineration inside the plant building. The visit was useful to make further study on waste-to-energy with less carbon emissions as a mean to support the circular and eco-friendly economy in Thailand.
