On 30th March 2023, H.E. Ms. Sirilak Niyom, Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark, together with Miss Nitchaporn Varnapruk, Director of the Thai Trade Center Nordic in Copenhagen, Mr. Teerakarn Savetsila, Consul, and Ms. Wanida Samittiwiwat, Chair of the Rak Thai Association, visited business owners who operated 3 Nuad Thai (Thai massage) shops in Copenhagen, namely, Asia Spa Copenhagen, Moon Massage, and N&N Thai Wellness. Each business owners provided a tour of their establishments which were decorated in Thai style together with the provision of high standard Nuad Thai services in clean and open environment. All employees also wear uniforms which are the shop’s standard. The owners said their businesses have run well because there are many customers, both individuals and family groups who enjoyed authentic Nuad Thai, regularly visited their shops.

In this occasion, the Ambassador encouraged the owners of Nuad Thai shops to establish a network of ethical Nuad Thai businesses with agreed-upon professional standards and rules for the members of such network to follow. This endeavor, in turn, would help elevate the positive image of Nuad Thai which is inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO. The Embassy is ready to assist in the formation of the network and to promote the member shops to a wider clientele. In this regard, the business owners were very receptive to the idea and would coordinate with other like-minded Nuad Thai shops for future meetings and consultations.
