On Saturday 5 August 2023, H.E. Sirilak Niyom, Ambassdor of Thailand to Denmark, together with Mr. Teerakarn Savetsila, Consul, and his spouse, attended Asarnha Bucha Day and Buddhist Lent Day ceremony at Watpa Copenhagen. The ceremony was presided over by Phra Khru Phinetsasanakhun, Abbot of the Temple. The Ambassador and the Consul, as well as members of the Thai community, participated in the morning prayers, made merits by offering foods to the monks, casted Buddhist Lent candles, and partake in the candlelight procession.

In this occasion, the Ambassador gave a speech and expressed pleasure in jointing the Thai community, who organized an almshouse which provide food for all participants, in making merits. Furthermore, Her Excellency also invited members of the Thai community to present their best wishes to His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua on His Majesty’s birthday, 28 July 2023, and to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother’s Birthday Anniversary, 12 August 2023.
