On 26 September 2024, H.E. Sirilak Niyom Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark attended the lunch organized by the International Women's Club of Copenhagen (IWC). She was welcomed by Ms. Heidi Wang, President of the IWC at the Odd Fellow Palæet. On this occasion, she gave remarks on the role of diplomacy in promoting peace and mutual understanding, the importance of cultural diplomacy in connecting peoples, the long-standing relationship between Thailand and Denmark, as well as the role of women in Thailand. The Ambassador highlighted that at the ministerial level, a women is serving as Permanent Secretary, the top position of Foreign Ministry, and around 20 lady ambassadors are working in various missions. At the national level, 2 out of 3 principal branches of the nation are headed by women namely, the Prime Minister and President of the Supreme Court. At the global level, Thailand ranked third in the world for the highest representation of women in senior management roles according to the survey by Grant Thornton in 2024. She emphasized that this reflected value of gender equality and the rights of women in Thailand.
