On 3 May 2025, H.E. Mrs. Suphanvasa Chotikajan Tang, Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark, hosted lunch for members of the Thai Students and Alumni Association in Denmark (TSAAD) at the Thai Ambassador’s Residence. Being the first meeting with TSAAD since her arrival to Denmark, the Ambassador took the opportunity to introduce herself and her team of diplomats to TSAAD’s members and inquired about their educational experience and livelihood in Denmark. The Ambassador informed those in attendance that the Embassy had the responsibility to ensure the well-being of students with government scholarships, as well as to support any activity of Thai students and alumni that enriched their experiences. Such activities include supporting the Embassy on the organization of the Thai Festival 2025 @ Copenhagen, scheduled to be held on Saturday, 14 June 2025 at Copenhagen City Hall Square (Rådhuspladsen).
In this occasion, the Ambassador participated in a brainstorming session with the students and alumni on potential activities to promote Thailand during the festival. Moreover, she was informed about TSAAD’s plan to create a directory of Thai students and alumni in Denmark to facilitate future coordination among the members and with the Embassy.
Most of Thai students in Denmark are master's and doctoral students who receive scholarships from the Thai government or from Danish universities and are studying or doing research in various fields, especially in science and innovation, which are in high demand in Thailand. Many of the current Thai students are pursuing degrees in chemistry, biology, and pharmacy, at Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and University of Copenhagen.
