On Sunday 27^th January 2019 at 11.00 hrs. His Excellency Mr. Vichit Chitvimarn, Ambassador of Thailand to Denmark hosted a reception for members of the Danish-Thai Society at the Royal Thai Embassy. The Reception is an annual tradition of collaboration between the Royal Thai Embassy and the Danish-Thai Society. It was attended by approximately 30 members. During the Reception, His Excellency the Ambassador gave a speech entitled “The Current State of Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand” to outline important political, economic and social developments in Thailand during the past year.

            At 12.30 hrs., His Excellency the Ambassador, together with the Embassy staff, attended the Tiffin Thai Curry Lunch hosted by the Danish-Thai Society at Asia House. The Lunch is also part of the annual tradition where members of the Society and the Embassy staff have lunch together in a traditional Thai style of rice and curry. During the lunch, a lottery took place with prizes sponsored by Thai Airways International, amongst others, of which the money raised would be donated to a charity to help children with disability in Thailand.

            The Danish-Thai Society was founded in 1951, currently having approximately 100 members who all have connection with Thailand. Many of the members have spent part of their lives in Thailand and some can speak Thai.
