The recently published Business Confidence Survey 2015 of the European Association for Business and Commerce (EABC) revealed that the European business community remains optimistic and confident in Thailand. Eighty percent of respondents, mostly senior executives of European companies operating in Thailand for over a decade, believed that the Thai economy would improve within the next two years. At the same time, 60 percent remained positive on their prospects for business growth, profitability and sales during the next six months.

The survey also revealed that the main incentives for conducting business in Thailand was the establishment of the ASEAN Economic Community in 2015, the Thai Government’s measures for improving the investment climate as well as the BOI’s investment promotion scheme. At the same time, some regulatory reforms would be needed to increase Thailand’s competitiveness and ease of doing business.
