WHO CAN APPLY FOR E-VISA WITH THE ROYAL THAI EMBASSY, COPENHAGEN?

Residents of Denmark and Lithuania who currently residing in these countries may apply for e-visa with the Royal Thai Embassy in Copenhagen through https://www.thaievisa.go.th/ . Proof of residency are required.

Important message: Due to the high number of application recieved during the holiday season, the processing time for all types the visa is between 15 - 25 working days. 

Those currently residing in other countries should contact the Royal Thai Embassy in their respective countries.

Nationals of Denmark and Lithuania who are currently traveling in Thailand cannot apply for e-visa with the Royal Thai Embassy in Copenhagen through https://www.thaievisa.go.th/. They must contact the Thai Immigration Bureau for visa matters.

Nationals of Denmark and Lithuania who are currently traveling in other countries and wish to travel to Thailand cannot apply for e-visa with the Royal Thai Embassy in Copenhagen. They may either enter Thailand under 30-day tourist visa exemption scheme or contact the Royal Thai Embassy in the countries they are traveling in if they wish to stay in Thailand for longer than the tourist visa exemption scheme allowed. If they wish to apply with the Royal Thai Embassy in Copenhagen, those nationals of Denmark and Lithuania must first return to their respective countries, i.e. Denmark and Lithuania, before applying.

***When applying for a visa through the Thai e-visa system, please do NOT translate the site from English to Danish using the browser. The Thai e-Via website will not working properly in Danish and problems may occur.***

DON'T(s) What you should do

1. Full Name

  • Don't misspell your own name
  • Special characters (Æ Ø Å etc.) must be changed as follows:
    Æ = AE
    Ø = OE
    Å = AA

    Your name must be spelled exactly as it appears in the machine-readable zone (MRZ) at the bottom of the biographic data page of your passport.


The “Æ” should be written as “AE”, the “Å” should be written as “AA”, and the “Ø” should be written as “OE”.

  • Don't left out any parts of your full name

    • First name: HANNE
    • Middle Name: KRISTINE
    • Family Name: OESTERGAARD

    • Example: if your full name is HANNE KRISTINE ØSTERGÅRD, please fill in the entire name:
  • Don't fill in an online application form with a different name from the one on the passport
    • Example: If your first name is Robert, you have to fill in Robert, NOT Rob or Bob. Please stick to the details in your passport that are compulsory for an e-Visa application.

  • Don't fill in with initial(s).

  • Don’t use AUTOFILL because it will alter your personal information and it could lead to rejection due to wrong personal information 

  • Don't use - or N/A or X or anything to indicate that you do not have that part of the name. Just leave that field blank.
    • Example: if you do not have a middle name, in this case, please leave the middle name field blank.

  • Don't miss out spaces when there is space.
    • Example: if your name is Anna Marie, you must fill in Anna Marie (with space between Anna and Marie) NOT AnnaMarie.

IMPORTANT

  • Simple mistake(s) could lead to rejection of your application. The visa fees will NOT be refunded in all cases.

  • The Embassy CAN NOT edit your personal details for you.

  • With a wrong full name, even if the Embassy had granted you a visa, you may encounter difficulties at the immigration checkpoints when you enter Thailand.

- Fill in your full name as appears in the machine-readable zone (MRZ) at the bottom of the biographic data page of your passport and check if it is correctly spelled.

  • For Danish Alien’s Passport (Grey) and Danish Travel Document (Blue) Passport holder (dansk flygtninge- eller fremmedpas)   

    Applicants who are originally nationals of countries with additional requirements and currently holding Danish Alien’s Passport and Danish travel documents need to submit the visa application at least four-six weeks in advance as well.  Holders of Danish travel documents and Danish alien passports must apply for a visa regardless of how many days the applicant will stay in the Kingdom.

  • Please select 'Travel Document/Refugee/Stateless' Do NOT select 'Ordinary Passport' 

    Remarks: when applying for a visa please select 'Travel Document for Refugee and stateless person' NOT 'Ordinary passport'

 

 

 

2. Supporting documents

  • Don't submit supporting documents for your own satisfaction BUT as requested or indicated in the application. 
  • The Health Insurance Policy Certificate covering all expenditures of medical treatments including COVID-19 worth at least 10,000 USD must be in English or Thai only. A copy of the insurance card or Health Insurance Policy Certificate in other languages is not sufficient and is not accepted.

IMPORTANT

  • Failure to submit all required documents could result in further delay or rejection of your application.
  • If you haven’t traveled or have no travel record for the past 12 months since the last international trip on your passport. You can upload a blank page or write a confirmation on a paper that you haven’t traveled for the past 12 months 

Proof of residence can be either:
 
 For Danish citizen:
1. CPR card (Sygesikringskort)

2. CPR picture from sundhedskortet

3. Receit of Utility (i.e. electricity, water, heater) that display your name and address in Denmark

 For Lithuanian citizen:

1. National ID card

2. Personal 


For Non-Danish Passport holders:
1. Residence card (Opholdstilladelse)

2. CPR card (sygesikringskort)
 

 

3. Email

  • Don't mistype your own email.
  • Don't use e-mail ending with .dk (preferable gmail.com)
  • Don't use an email that is full or practically unreachable.

 

IMPORTANT

  • All automatic communications between the e-Visa system and you are done through the email you provided. This includes the delivery of your visa once approved. 
  • Please check the spelling of your email in order to make sure that your email is correct. 

 

4. Photograph *taken within the last six months*

  • Don't use a cropped photo from your passport.

 

IMPORTANT

  • If the photograph does not reflect your current appearance, you may be refused to enter Thailand.
  • Please submit a proper passport photo (pass foto) NOT a photo cropped from your passport.

 

5. Nationality

  • Don't be confused about your nationality especially when you hold more than one nationality.

Notes:

  • Your nationality at birth can differ from your nationality as appears on your passport.
